An unconventional journey

Tony Meale is a Chicago-based author, speaker, ghostwriter, and brand manager. In 2011, he resigned from his newspaper job to author and publish “The Chosen Ones: The Team That Beat LeBron,” a sports nonfiction book about the only Ohio high school team to beat LeBron James. The book received national publicity, was picked up by Barnes & Noble, and ultimately featured on ESPN.

Tony spent the next decade freelancing for clients throughout the United States, eventually transitioning from journalism to ghostwriting and brand management. He produced content for people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities—entirely remotely—and provided coaching, consulting, and thought leadership to individuals and executives seeking to build their brand and expand their business.

Tony has written for a former MVP athlete, a former college basketball coach, a U.S. Olympic gold medalist, a university dean, a real estate mogul, and varied C-level executives in consulting, law, financial services, data analytics, DE&I, and mental health, among other diverse fields.

In 2021, after a decade of self-employment, Tony accepted an executive communications position at a Fortune 250 company. He is available as a consultant and guest speaker.
